Mailbox Expansion and Overhead Shelter
Posted on Dec 1st, 2017
As the Reserve grows and new homes are built we found that additional mail boxes were needed. In early 2017, to accommodate the ongoing building boom in the Reserve, Courtney King was hired to design a roof structure for the mailbox clusters located at the intersection of Lucas Blvd and Santino Place. At the same time the Board agreed to the purchase of one additional 16 mailbox cluster and one new 4 large box package mailbox cluster.
Once bids were received it was decided to break the work up into two stages. The first stage would be to just include the new mailbox clusters and the overhead shelter structure. The second stage will be to build a foundation and stand that will be able to accommodate all 10 mailbox clusters that will be required once the Reserve builds out. This second stage is on hold until such time as it is needed.
After several delays caused by the County Planning Department our plans were approved and construction by Spectrum Construction was started in early July. The first stage of the project was completed in late November and the new mailbox clusters were installed. At this time we are waiting on the Post Master to deliver the keys for the package box in time for the holiday season.
